The delicate skin under our eyes is incredibly thin, emphasizing the need for special care and hydration in this area. With the average person blinking 10,000 times a day, it’s essential to provide the right attention to prevent dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines from appearing.
Yolanda Franco, training director of Maria Galland Paris, highlights the significance of properly hydrating the under-eye area. Adequate hydration not only supports the skin’s natural ability to retain moisture but also fortifies the skin barrier, diminishes signs of tiredness, and promotes a plump and smooth appearance.
Franco cautions against actions like rubbing the eyes without care due to their potential to damage blood vessels and elastic fibers. Additionally, she notes that tears with a pH of 7.5 can dry out the sensitive eye skin. Inadequate hydration weakens the skin barrier, leading to dark circles, sensitivity, lack of elasticity, and increased visibility of wrinkles.
To combat these effects, using a hydrating face cream or specialized products for the eye contour can be beneficial. It’s important to moisturize morning and night gently without excessive rubbing. When applying products near the eyes, light movements around areas without bones are recommended to avoid irritation.
Protecting the delicate under-eye area with proper hydration is key not only for maintaining skin health but also for reducing signs of aging and fatigue. By incorporating suitable skincare routines and products designed for this sensitive region, you can achieve a radiant and well-nourished appearance.
