The excitement of summer’s Olympic Games has been nothing short of inspirational, culminating in a truly breathtaking closing ceremony. Following an evocative performance of the national anthem at Stade de France by singer H.E.R., Cruise stunned spectators when he emerged from the stadium’s roof, rappelling down to accept the Olympic flag from LA Mayor Karen Bass. Adding further drama to this once-in-a-lifetime event, he then mounted his motorcycle and rode into the Parisian night.

Cruise continued the festivities by hopping onto a plane and jumping out mid-air while transforming Hollywood’s iconic double “O”s into Olympic rings. As this occurred, other esteemed athletes – including renowned mountain biker Kate Courtney, legendary sprinter Michael Johnson, and celebrated skateboarder Jagger Eaton – took turns carrying the flag.

Leading up to this unforgettable ceremony, executive producer Ben Winston revealed some behind-the-scenes details about how they brought their remarkable vision to life. The journey involved transporting the Olympic flag from Paris to Los Angeles; staging an impromptu beach-side concert graced by superstar musicians like Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers; and coordinating a challenging travel schedule for Cruise as he concluded the Paris Olympics’ grand finale.

Expressing gratitude towards all contributors involved in making this dream project come true – including Cruise himself – Winston admitted experiencing nerves due to live TV elements yet was thrilled at bringing together diverse creatives for this colossal undertaking.

Participating artists were committed to maintaining secrecy around these plans—a commitment reflected in Cruise’s swift transitions from shooting ‘Mission: Impossible’ in London to being on set in Los Angeles before returning again. Adding local flavor were remarkable performances across Los Angeles landmarks—the adrenaline-pumping sight of Red Hot Chili Peppers transitioning the flag from Paris to LA being one standout moment.

All in all, the closing ceremony of Paris 2024 Olympics was an amalgamation of stunning visuals, exceptional performances, and a stellar showcase for athletes that leaves us eagerly awaiting what comes next.
